Business process outsourcing company Convergys India will open a new call centre office near Mumbai by June. The company, which currently employs 10,000 people in India is looking to further increase its manpower by 4000.
"Our new Mumbai office should be ready by June. We should be adding between 2000-4000 people in our Customer Care division," said Jaswinder Ghumman, vice president and country manager for Convergys Customer Management India (private) Ltd on the sidelines of a press meet in New Delhi.

Convergys currently operates out of seven offices in India with three in Delhi and one each in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The company will also open its new software research and development office in Hyderabad on February 9.
"Our new facility in Hyderabad was launched in April last year. Tomorrow it will have a formal opening," said Vinay Mehta, managing director of Convergys Information Management division.
"Hyderabad office has 600 people working for us. We plan to double that number in the next 12 to 14 months," said Mehta.
The company is also evaluating Chandigarh and Bangalore for setting up of software development centres in India.
"The Hyderabad centre is the third largest location in terms of employees and we will develop that into a centre for excellence in terms of sales effectiveness," said Larry S Schwartz, executive vice president, Global Operations for Convergys.
Convergys does worldwide business in billing, customer care and human resource outsourcing. "We are leading global provider of cable billing and cable telephony billing and we would like to explore opportunities in India too," said Schwartz.
